SEO Consultant Testing on Mayday Update

Monday, May 31, 2010

I am Cijo Abraham an SEO/SMO Consultant and I provide tips on Internet Marketing, Lead Acquisition, Online Business Strategy and Social Media Marketing. I am writing this post to test the mayday update. Mayday update has already catched a lot of attention during the month of May. The mayday update is going to make e-commerce website lose a lot of traffic. What makes mayday update so important? Mayday update is just a ranking update from Google. Google wants to see quality content ranked for long tail keywords. The update will result in lot of product pages from getting less SERP as compared to earlier rankings. The long tail keywords will now be ranked according to the order of use. That means if I use “SEO Consultant Testing” in the content then I may not rank for “SEO Testing Consultant”. In this post I am also trying to test the effect of Google indented listings. I am sure Google would consider genuine content based on the quality rather than just removing indented listings. I will publish my findings in the upcoming blog post.
